Dear Sirs,

Rectifying Valve.

Further to our EFC2/MS. of the 19th ult. and yours ref. V/HB{C. E. Harcombe}/466. of the 20th and 22nd ult. the purpose for which we have used the U.3. valve and for which we require another valve is for H.T. D.C. tests of insulation, for which purpose the valve should be capable of a maximum output of 500 microamperes at the same time to be capable of withstanding a reverse pressure from filament to plate of 12,000 volts. We shall be pleased to hear the nearest valve you can offer in this direction but should far prefer the valve to be fitted with the screw cap holder like the U.3. and also to have similar dimensions.

Further to the above we await your confirmation that your Works still have some U.3. valves in stock.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
