1262 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}15/JH.16.8.37. Propellor shafts bought complete from Hardy Spicer. We enquired from Hardy Spicer's why the experimental shafts they supplied did not have grease nipples and were therefore no longer in balance when the nipple had been fitted here. Their reply was that they did not know what kind of nipples suited us. They will supply in future shafts balanced with the nipples if we either or (a) Supply them with nipples. (b) Get them to supply and fit nipples to suit our grease gun (sending a sample) Will you please put the necessary machinery in action so that future shafts are correct.
