Dear Sirs,

Replying to your letter of the 24th instant, the question of the battery for the "Phantom III" chassis with lower internal resistance is a rather different problem to that which we were tackling for the Bentley car, and as it involves a large number of points we were wondering whether it would be possible for Mr. West to come down here some day in the near future to discuss the whole matter.

It would be better for him to come down here than for some representative to see him in Derby, because we can produce samples of all the parts being discussed on the spot.

With regard to the performance of the new light battery for the Bentley, we are investigating the whole matter now, and will write you further in a few days.

We think that probably the reason why you are not getting a satisfactory performance from it is that it has not had any developing charges and discharges as compared with the standard battery, which possibly you may have had in your testing room for some time. However, we can let you know more when our tests are complete.
