Bensport.

We strongly object to the tone of your memo De/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}l/M.15.7.32 received yesterday, and the manner in which you endeavour to misrepresent the situation.

We do not think the broadcasting of this kind of mendacious literature is going to help on with the work.

The steering box position sketched on our scheme Lec.3146 does not foul the wheelcase as you state, and the proposed modification affects the column angle, and the position of the windscreen from that shown on N.Sch. 3476 practically not at all.

If an Alvis type steering is required, which you say has a nearly vertical wheel, this is something we have not previously heard about in connection with the Bensport, and are unable to find on any of the prints received from you.

With regard to the plan view of Lec.3146 not showing the blower support illustrated in the elevation, the print you have is from an unfinished quarter scale scheme, and was sent to supply you with information in advance of the full scale designs.

Before you permanently assume a hypercritical attitude we suggest you make some attempt to raise the standard of accuracy of your own work. This gives the D.O. at Derby so much trouble with fouls that a permanent practice has been instituted of redrawing all designs bearing your name, with consequence delay and added expense to the company.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
