R.{Sir Henry Royce} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} C. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re. PHANTOM RADIATOR SHUTTER THERMOSTAT. Referring to LeC. 2773. shewing radiator shutter scheme, we are not satisfied with the single guide for the bellows as obtained by using the standard Fulton end to the bellows. This guide comes out shorter than would be normally used owing to lack of space between the fan and radiator and the weight of the bellows and end plate over hanging may set up friction and wear in the guide. We attach therefore propose that a double guide should be used as shewn on the attached blueprint LeC. 2775. In this matter we have endeavoured to retain a scheme that the Fulton Co. could supply easily and quickly by using a standard part from one of the other sizes of Sylphon thermostats and fixing it into particular bellows container we wish to order. Unless we hear to the contrary we propose to work to LeC.2775. Blueprint attached to R's memo. and original to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Handwritten: 83499.
