B.24 (6.B.IV)

The outcome of the controversy with the Foundry regarding the improved coring for the cylinder block and head is now being detailed and should be included on the above unit for 15,000 miles test.

This should be possible in view of the hold up until the new brake mechanism is ready.

The instructions therefore are as follows:-

(1) Cylinder block to EB.3431.

(2) Water pump bend with gland which is now being detailed.

(3) Cylinder head to LeC.5717 which is being detailed, this head is similar in all respects to the existing head on this unit (EB.3173) with the exception of improved coring etc.

(4) Existing induction system etc. on this unit is O.K. for the new head and unaltered.

(5) The new cylinder block calls for detail alteration of the governor control which is also being detailed.

whilst instructing for the above parts will you please order 2 duplicate sets on which we can carry out development tests.
