- 5 - Oil leaking on to brakes & pulling to one side. 25/30. Fault known in Exp. dept. in 1935. PhIII. use of Heldite to prevent leaks called for by exp. dept. Insufficient brakes due to Servo insufficiency Fault known in exp & new servo designed & available two years ago but not incorporated Servo jaggers & grabs. Usually overcome by removing slack from rods. Pull on spring produced which overcomes trouble completely & is available if called for. Suspension. Springing. 25/30. Extensive tests carried out on 22CI Nov-Oct 1936 with softer front road springs & various damper settings. Work also carried out in Exp. garage to improve ride. PhIII. Excessive flexibility. 32.Ex. 7/13.5.36 - 14/21.5.36 - 24.5.36 - 38 Ex. 28/29.10.36. Dampers with reduced leak run on 35 Ex to reduce front float but not standardised. Shock Damper Knocks. 25/30 Internal knocks reported on 22/CI. Daily reports. 25/26.6.36 - 27.6.36 - 27.36 - 4/5.7.36 - 6/7.7.36 - 8/10.7.36 - also after return to England. Dampers loose in frame Modified by larger fixing bolts. No trouble. Leaks from dampers Tests & work carried out on a Duprene rubber glands. Failure of damper linkage Experienced on various occasions. Due to dirt in governor unit. Front axle control rattles (towers being). Considerable work on this feature. Carried out on Bentley & modification to reduce wear available. Front End movement. Experienced on 22CI. & reported. | ||
