(2) As regards returning the oil from the actuating cyls. to the master cyl. chamber should this be found desirable, I suggest that we can use the vacuum of the engine, but I should only use this vacuum while the brakes were on. It would necessitate a system of pipes to the dampers, but they could be in series or in parallel by arranging a restriction and ventilating holes accordingly, that is, there need not be a separate pipe to each damper. The reason being the large capacity of the engine vacuum combined with the restriction would clear the oil out of the last one even though 3 were clear of oil. An alternate way of arranging it would be to put them all in series with a ventilating hole in the last. In this case small restrictions are not necessary. There would be a supplementary reservoir for such a sch. with a valve worked in unison with the master piston, as will be further explained by DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s notes.
