a self contained story X401 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PH8/DN16.11.25. TO ES c. to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}, CWS. & Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM PN{Mr Northey} Balancing wheels of "Silver Ghost" Cars. When at Derby last week I discussed with Es, as desired by you, the lines which might reasonably be taken by us with a view to the owners of "Silver Ghosts" having their wheels balanced or being warned of the wisdom of doing so. He agreed with our proposition, which was to the effect that when a "Silver Ghost" comes in to our hands for any attention, we should balance the wheels without charge. Also, that a circular letter might be written to "Silver Ghost" owners bringing again to their notice a matter of some importance which was fully realised and discussed about 15 years ago, i.e. the correct balancing of wheels complete with tyres, in order that there should be at no time any tendency for any want of balance in a wheel to set up a steering wobble at high speeds. The letter might proceed to state that we should be glad to carry out the balancing of the wheels of any car when the owner next has it at one of our Depots or would care to arrange to send it to us at his convenience.
