To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to PN.{Mr Northey} c. to CWN. +1850 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG18.5.28. 14-EX CAR. x7770 We sent this car to London last week and we anticipated that Sales would make a complete test of the car in order to confirm the views which R.{Sir Henry Royce} has expressed as regards the excellent features. R.{Sir Henry Royce} expressed the wish that he would like you personally to try this car. PN.{Mr Northey} at the Technical Conference in Derby yesterday pointed out that there were certain features on this car which, in his opinion, were distinctly poor. As 14-EX car is being used more or less as a model of the 'SS{S. Smith}', we think it is essential that any criticism Sales Dept. wish to make should be known as early as possible. We would like you therefore to agree for us to return this car to London early next week so that Sales Officials can thoroughly test all the features on this car. If you agree, will you please let us know where we should send the car and whether you wish our man to stay with it. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
