2. (a) Flying and trimming cables would not be altered.

(b) A simplified ejection chute is possible.

(c) It makes it possible to have a double hopper for shells.

In view of the advantages in paragraph 2. and the fact that in any case the front and rear mountings require modifications, it was agreed that we should go ahead with the second project and at the same time design a new rear mounting similar to that suggested by Mr. Green, with simplified horizontal and vertical adjustment.

In view of the pressure of work in this Department it was agreed that Ve's Department should re-design the rear mounting and modify the front mounting, suitable drawings and information having been passed on that this may be done.

At the same time we are laying out the new proposed position of the gun in the plane full scale, to see if everything is clear. We shall then follow on with a final installation drawing.
