re. EXHAUST MANIFOLDS.

With reference to your memo St2/TB/21.3.23, the copper asbestos washer which was introduced some considerable time ago, certainly pre-war, was brought in to avoid exhaust blows.

There is really no objection to your removing this providing a satisfactory job can be obtained without it.

In the meantime, we are asking the Experimental Department to give this matter consideration.
