Re telegram from R.{Sir Henry Royce} as given in Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}6/T.16.3.31, up to the present time I have not seen any reply to this and should be glad to know what action is being taken.

I assume that what he asks to be done to LRS's car is more or less the same as was done to 58-GN, and I believe this is quite simple and can be done at N. under Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}'s instructions without the car having to go to Derby.

With regard to 58-GN, I believe I am correct in saying that no good purpose would be served by fitting the complete diamond mounting because tests have shown that this is not necessarily the cure, and additionally because it brings in its train other troubles which are unacceptable such as jellying.

I rather imagine that R.{Sir Henry Royce} when he sent the telegram, did not realise this but from R1/M14.3.31, received to-day, he does now seem to realise this as per paragraph 3, page 2 of his memo.

I certainly do not want R.{Sir Henry Royce} to come home before his due time in regard to this matter. He appears to be getting rather restless about it and, if it is not possible to really to make the whole position clear to him by correspondence, I am wondering whether some one had not better go out immediately to see him on the subject.
