Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter of the 3rd inst., regarding our flow rig for testing carburetters, we should like to repeat that we shall be most happy to give you all assistance we can towards helping you to design a suitable apparatus.

We have not a great many drawings relative to the plant, but such as we have are at your disposal and we have pleasure in enclosing Blue Prints of those drawings which we think might be helpful to you.

Drawing X.2015 shows the arrangement of the experimental plant in the Blowing Room, and details relating to the plant are enclosed as follows. -

Drawing X.2014 shows the general arrangement and the details appertaining to the carburetter test table, complete with hood for covering the carburetter when it is under test.

The details of the table itself are shown on the left of the drawing, whilst the hood is shown in the two views in the middle of the drawing.

This hood is arranged to be lifted or lowered by means of a cord passing over pulleys, and the hood is balanced by means of a balance weight.

When the carburetter is under test, the hood is down on to the table and the lower edges of the hood fit into a trough containing mercury, in order to make an air-tight seal.
