Contd. -3- EPCS/T8.9.21. is satisfactorily less than the figure .015 when the battery is fully charged, or after a considerable rest, but on a discharge of this magnitude being allowed to take place, this figure is increased rather sooner than perhaps is desirable. (This feature was O.K. before the introduction of the recent modifications). The batteries which we have tested on high rate discharge and have shown up best in this respect, namely, maintaining their virtual internal conductance (reckoned in this way) for the longest periods have been - Exides, 6BXE6 and 6BXE5 (previous to modifications) C.A.V. and Lucas celluloid batteries, Tudor special, Willard S.J.R.27, De Martis, C.A.V.-Willard 12XHS, and P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} W.D.E.13. The U.S.A. 6LXW9/1 battery was distinctly bad, as also found by Mr. Olley, our present standard with modifications being considerably better than this one. EFC. | ||
