Thank you for your Evl/7.7.28. I am very glad to be able to assist in getting this body through to time. I have inspected the whole of the work this morning, and find it is progressing very favourably, and Messrs. Barker state that they fully expect to be able to deliver on the 20th July. As regards the body, the details of the specification have been adhered to, with the exception of the windscreen, of which the upper half is in one piece, as I have already told you, and a slight variation in the shape of the boot at the rear of the body, which has been necessary owing to its fabric covering. The wings are completed and Messrs. Barker were getting into touch with Derby this morning to arrange for their collection. I have, however, altered the arrangement with regard to the wings in that Derby will only collect the front wings which have to be fixed to the chassis, as it appears that by far the more important fixings of the rear wings are to the body, and Messrs. Barker are therefore proceeding with this work, working to the dimensions of the blue print which they have, which appears to contain all the necessary information to set them at the right overall width, and also to supply the one rear wing support which has to be finally fixed to the chassis frame. If there should be any further queries I will let you know. CWB. Cud. | ||
