COPY. X7 31 D To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from HDY.{William Hardy} HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.2.1.34. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Backed off 2nd Speed Dogs. Will you kindly instruct for production backed off 2nd speed dogs for the Bentley as shown on sketch Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1203. This modification has passed 10,000 miles test on the Bentley, and a standardisation sheet is, we understand, in circulation. Would you also kindly instruct this scheme for the 20/25 and Phantom but for experiment only. The 20/25 modification is, we believe, exactly the same as for the Bentley. In the case of the Phantom the number of teeth in the coupling must be reduced by one to obtain an even number, and we suggest that the amount of backing off be made .062. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
