To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from BJ. in England under conditions as nearly approximating to Continental conditions as possible, combined with good roads and traffic conditions, and it was for this reason they thought it desirable that the matter should be reconsidered now that there are opportunities for both Works and Sales to try a number of cars with different types of bodies. The point now, therefore, arises, what do Works officials consider is the best course to pursue to make these tests and to make sure that the decision to adopt 1500 lbs. is the best all-round arrangement, as at present Sales officials are of opinion that the matter requires further immediate careful consideration in connection with variations in different types of cars. As considerable tests have been made at W. with different strength of springs and the final test with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Sales officials was comparatively short and almost entirely at high speed over rough roads, which enabled the standardisation of 1500 lbs. to be decided on, it was contemplated that it would be unnecessary to make any further very extensive test if it was agreed by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Sales officials that it was desirable to amend somewhat the decision in regard to the strength of springs after making further tests in which both traffic, high speed and rough roads were all included, taking into consideration different weights in bodies. It would seem desirable that Works and Sales officials should meet and talk this over as soon as possible, as obviously they all have only one desire, namely, to produce the best possible all-round design to effect the best all-round results to suit all customers and all conditions.
