X8260 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. BJ8/H12.2.26. PHANTOM. LOUVRED BONNETS. with reference to Hsl/LG10.2.26, we have inspected the sample bonnet, which is satisfactory in appearance, and we agree to its adoption, subject to your tests having proved that it is equally satisfactory to the present standard louvred bonnet, and that tests in torrential rain have proved that it does not allow water to enter under the bonnet; also that tests on very muddy roads with a lot of standing water have not allowed mud and water to enter under the bonnet. It must be remembered that cars with louvres are usually run in tropical countries, where the rain is infinitely heavier than is usual here. Every endeavour should be made to test the louvres from this point of view. B.J. | ||
