R.{Sir Henry Royce} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M15.3.29. 'SS{S. Smith}' BRAKE CABLES. The L.H. front brake cable comes rather close to the front expansion box on the car fitted with the stay to the crankchamber. It was intended that the available clearance here should be divided between the cable and the tie rod. At present it very much favours the latter. We suggest that the expansion box should be moved out so as to give about .100 clearance with the tie rod, when apparently .300 or so is available for the brake cable.
