We do not anticipate that there will be any appreciable increase in power on the F.2.B. series low compression engine.

The average compression ratio of the present standard Phantom is 4.12/1. The average compression ratio of the low compression F.2.B. engine which we have measured is 4:2/1. The anticipated increase in power with this alteration in compression is no more than 1%, so therefore we cannot expect any increase in performance.

The advantage with F.2.B. series is that we can, if we are prepared to sacrifice a certain amount of smoothness, increase the compression ratio without having excessive detonation.

With the two types of head - high and low compression - we can get any compression ratio from 4.25/1 to 5/1.
