Broad Plain, Bristol Zero ANTI-FREEZING ANTI-FOULING RADIATOR GLYCERINE Thursday - February 28th.1929 Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Experimental Department, Derby. Dear Sirs, Acting under telephonic instructions received from your London Office to-day, we are despatching by passenger train a 1 cwt. drum of Zero Radiator Glycerine. This preparation, which is 90% pure Glycerine, is marketed by us in convenient tins for use in motor cars, but as we understand you wish to carry out experiments in connection with aircraft engines we think it more convenient to supply in drums. We have ourselves carried out exhaustive tests with this preparation, and enclose herewith freezing and boiling curves, and table of viscosities. Zero can be used with complete safety as there is nothing in it detrimental to metals, rubber joints, fabric etc., and it has the added advantage of preventing rust, lime deposits etc. forming in the cooling system. These figures will enable you to estimate the strength of solution required for your particular conditions, and we would like to draw special attention to the boiling curve, which shows that a strong solution materially raises the boiling point - a fact which we think may be of special interest to you in connection with aircraft engines operating under tropical conditions. As Zero neither evaporates nor boils away, one application will last for an indefinite period, provided, p.t.o. | ||
