| 10 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X300a Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}4/KW.2.4.36. Will you please carry out the following modifications to 32-EX. These are the final improvements before the car goes to France. (1) Remove the autolock part of the front and rear dampers and build to standard production L.O.P. (2) Fit production type top pivot bearings with the latest felt seal. (3) The oil seals on the bottom end of the yoke should be arranged so as to retain oil and not exclude water. (4) Fit the leather covers supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} on the near side of the suspension only. (5) Cure oil leak on the offside rear damper connecting tube. (6) Change the D.W.S. hand pump for one built to the production specification to be supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring} (7) Fit hand brake ratchet G.84428/9. (8) Fit, if ready, brake drums in R.R. cast-iron. (9) Re-line the hand brake shoes with Ferodo Fibre H.D. (10) Third gear at the moment jumps out, and we should like to determine whether this is due to insufficient clearance between the sliding piece and the plain portion of the 3rd motion shaft. (11) The side shaft noise is excessive. (12) The clutch pedal rubber stop does not function satisfactorily. (13) Check the slipper wheel load and if necessary reset to 25 lbs. (14) Oil holes to be drilled in the connecting rods, LeC.5042. (15) Replace outboard ball bearing behind the flywheel. (16) Attend to rattles in the push-pull switches on the instrument board.
