Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} -------- 1153 BY/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}1/G.25.8.38. BACKLASH IN GEARBOX. -------------------- We have worked out the backlash in the Rover gearbox from the detail drawings supplied, with the following results :- Rover 3rd Speed. Min. 0.015 Max. .044 Bentley 11 3rd Speed. Min. 0.011 Max. .020 Both of the above represent movement at a 1.000 rad. on the 1st motion shaft, the 3rd motion shaft being held stationary. The backlash due to the gear teeth is omitted in both sets of figures, since no data is given on the Rover drawings. ael BY/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} | ||
