X.4187 - SCINTILLA MAGNETO.

It is suggested that immediately on return of 7-GII, the AG-6-A type Scintilla magneto be removed therefrom with a view to putting it, later on, on a 40/50 or EACX chassis, the direction of rotation being suitable for those.

It is desirable, however, that we should have the magneto in the laboratory for a short while in between in order to take low speed sparking characteristics in comparison with those of the smaller AM-6-A type, the report on this latter magneto we are about to issue. So far on the bench only the advance characteristics of the larger machine have been taken.

As stated in our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 4/T8.5.24, (to RHC {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} ,) we have a number of Watford R.O.1 magnetos, one of which will be available for putting on 7-GII in place of this Scintilla machine.
