To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} & OY. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} -2- R3/G1/7/21 Contd. By the next mail we shall send you the modifications to the existing float feed to form the small carburettor to facilitate starting with poor fuel in cold weather. It is assumed that to get reasonable starting, fuel supplied must have at least half of its volume highly volatile. We intend that this small jet shall give a mixture up to about twice the ordinary necessary strength to obtain an explosion, so that it will allow for a mixed fuel of 50% of which may be considered truly volatile.
