OIL-LESS BUSHES.
----------

With further reference to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M.16.12.31. oil-less bushes are not suitable for carrying heavy loads or where the movements are considerable.

We have questioned Monsieur Chaumont of Delage, who is now at Derby, and he informs us that they only use oil-less bushes where the loads are light. They do not use such bushes for road spring shackles.

Delage use the Silent bloc scheme for the shackle pins and this scheme is similar to what is used on the Hartford and other makes of shock absorbers. Our view of the Silent bloc scheme is that it is not entirely satisfactory if there is a considerable movement.

We attach leaflet describing the oil-less bushes, and we could obtain samples if you still wish us to do so, but in regard to the Silent bloc type we should have to get this made specially.
