1231 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}12/MH.{M. Huckerby} 5th. July 1938. Messrs.C.C.Wakefield & Co. Ltd., Wakefield House, 30/32, Cheapside, LONDON, E.C.2. For the attention of Mr.E.A.Evans. Dear Sirs, We are sending to you a sample of Hi-press oil taken from an axle on which the gears have failed. As far as we know this oil is of the sulphur chloride variety and not thio-ether. We should be glad if you would let us know whether this in any way varies from our usual Hi-press, whether it has lost its lubricating properties, or what you consider to be the cause of the gear failure. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
