X3646. c. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. Mailing. EFC2/T. 6th January, 1927. Messrs. The General Electric Co. Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, W.C.2. Dear Sirs, Re U.4. Rectifying Valve. We thank you for your letter WHW/FEH.908. of the 1st inst. We do not understand the remark in the first part of your third paragraph. The results we gave to you were taken in the way you describe, i.e. with moving coil instruments and no smoothing apparatus. The output curve on your leaflet is labelled 'unsmoothed' but does not agree with the actual performance of the valve. Owing to the error on the valve box, and the fact that as a result of this we have loaded this particular valve up to 50 m.a., we have no doubt that you will be prepared to replace this valve. Accordingly, upon receipt of your confirmation we will have this particular valve, upon which the tests, of which we gave you the results, were made, returned to you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
