Nos. 10 and 12, which are the source of most of the trouble owing to lifting together and being at the far end of the shaft. For further particulars see separate note.

RADIATOR WITH SHALLOW TOP TANK AND DOUBLY ACTING THERMOSTATICALLY OPERATED SHUTTERS

Regarding the spilling of water, see memo from R.{Sir Henry Royce} to follow. A design for a modified discharge nozzle incorporating a simple form of steam separator will be sent from WW.

Regarding the action of the shutters we think that a set should be fitted up having considerably more slack in all bearings and definitely arranged to operate with about one third of the frictional resistance at present encountered.

then
These could/be tested to see what, if any, disadvantage occurred with the increased slack.

CARBURATION.

This will be improved by freer action of the radiator shutters.

DYNAMO CHARGING.

This is dealt with in memo A1/M11.8.30 to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}
EFC. agrees that the dynamo on 24-EX is not giving its full output and requires examination (FCI/AML2.8.30)
