Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from EJJ. EJJ.7/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}29.9.39. Job No. C.6072/O.N.554. Re Rig for Testing Vulture Auxiliary Gearboxes. We are designing a rig for testing Vulture auxiliary gearboxes and are having great difficulty in obtaining a suitable power unit for driving this rig. We require a unit to give 30 H.P. to 40 H.P. at 2,750 R.P.M. and to be capable of accelerating from approximately 600 R.P.M. to 3,200 R.P.M. in three seconds. We understand that you have a Wraith engine which is at present at the Shardlow Dept., and which would be capable of fulfilling the above duties, and we should like to know if this engine is in good condition and if it could be used for the above job.
