MERLIN "F" ENGINE - CONTINUED.

Conduit screened ignition wiring - outlets in aluminium drawn bar. Completed 20.3.36.
Modified boost pipe and supercharger casing. Completed 30.3.36.
Modification to supercharger outlet facing. " 21.3.36.
Mods. to cyl. block - extra drilling in middle panel. Completed.
Gun turret and undercarriage retraction pumps mounted on cylinder head. Completed 28.3.36.
Shortened coolant restrictor cylinder head plug. Completed 24.3.36.
6 1/2 to 1 compression ratio piston produced from existing forgings. Completed.
Relative position of pilots controls with S.U. and Claudel Hobson carburetters. Completed 25.3.36.
Modifications to cylinder block and side water pipe. Completed 30.3.36.
Cylinder head:- metal removed from inside exhaust ports - improved gas flow. Completed 25.3.36.
Supercharger gears:- 8.588 to 1 ratio. Completed 30.3.36.
Spring loaded sparking plug terminal. Completed 31.3.36.
Modified connecting rod bolts to prevent twisting. In hand.
