PEREGRINE STEERING COLUMN.

Herewith we send N. sch. 3625. shewing the lower part of the steering column scaled down approximately .5 compared with the 25HP.

We have retained the mounting of the steering column in the frame as the geometry is good, and this arrangement has been approved by R.{Sir Henry Royce} Should it be found subsequently that it has drawbacks we expect it will be possible to revert to the steering column at the top of the frame without experiencing the present difficulties.

The question arises as to the angle of the worm which since we have reduced the number of revs. from lock to lock to 2 is rather higher than we have recently been used to. We have suggested an alternative, obtained by making a larger worm, if the 10° of the main scheme is found to be too reversible.
