To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (Handwritten) X8420 SECRET. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M30.4.25. EAC. STEERING. X. 8430 X. 8420 We send herewith N.sch. 1993 shewing the proposed spring driven damped pendulum lever which Mr. Royce is very anxious to try, to see its effect on lightening the steering, steering wobbles. etc. We expect with this you will be able to te use ball thrusts on both pivots, and that we shall be able to modify the front axle to use ball or roller bearings all over the front axle and steering. The design is by way of being experimental but Mr. Royce thinks that it will be sufficiently like the dinal design to make it worth while trying at once. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
