To E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from R. {Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.4238 R3/M13.1.25. 20 HP. EXHAUST PIPE. X.4238. The present pipe on 5-Goshawk-11 does not seem to require any alteration. In its present simple form it seems quite satisfactory. This has no damper, and has a simple flange joint to silencer. The only thing I can see is that the final exhaust might be a little more silent, but this specimen has a cutout, and one diaphragm less. I believe perhaps no alteration is needed until we re-arrange the exhaust for more power. R. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
