I was driving along the main Burton - Lichfield road at 9:15AM. at about 45 m.p.h. & saw a small car & a tip lorry in front travelling at about 25 m.p.h. I slowed down appreciably & pulled out. There was no traffic coming from Lichfield & no signals were given by either of the drivers in front. I started to overtake & had passed the small car & was about to overtake the lorry when the driver of this simultaneously signalled & pulled out to take a right hand turn. I braked hard & pulled out to the right hand edge of the road. Owing to the fact that the lorry driver cut the corner badly there was no possibility of following him round. His statement made to the police that he was unaware of me until the accident shows that he did not make use of his driving mirror. After the accident the lorry driver moved his vehicle before any measurements could be taken.
