X8140 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG28.3.25. THROTTLE GOVERNOR. X8140 We find that when we come to build up the governor [struck through] control with the new spring to return the governor, it works in the wrong direction, i.e., it tends to open the throttle. As regards the anti-rattling device for the generator drive. Considerable care has to be taken in fitting this up to make sure that it will function properly. The spring which we have inserted has to deflect the fabric coupling. The spring is not strong enough. We should like to have your suggestions as regards these two points.
