STEERING TESTS.

7.B.V. fitted with the old geometry was compared with 9.B.V. which has the latest improved geometry, on the Buxton Road.

The results of the test I would sum up as follows. For wandering on undulating roads there was not much to choose between the cars, neither are perfect, yet the writer would prefer 7.B.V. of the two for either fast or slow running.

There is a distinct loose feeling about 9.B.V. steering which is most unpleasant, it being impossible to drive the car at high speeds without doing a considerable amount of steering wheel movement to check the car's course.

This peculiar characteristic is not present on 7B.V.

There is also another objectionable feature about 9.B.V. which is absent on 7.B.V. at speed. This is a slow radial oscillating movement of the steering wheel thus making it necessary to constantly check and counter-check the steering.

The only virtue 9.B.V. has over 7.B.V. is the steering lightness for parking.
