OLYMPIA 1929.

We tried the 2 litre unsupercharged IS Alfa Romeo car. It is the larger addition of 1 1/2 litre which has been on sale in this country for the last 18 months. The performance of the car was remarkably good. The power peak appeared to be something over 4000 revs. The engine was very smooth at all speeds. The car was quite docile on top gear. As one would expect the low speed M.E.P. of the engine was not very good but this enabled them to use a higher compression ratio without detonation. The car was tractable on top gear at all normal driving speeds, the brakes road holding and steering were very good. The general mechanical noise of the engine was somewhat disappointing. In our opinion the main feature of this car is the fact that it produces such a high performance with the minimum of vibration and roughness.

The price of these cars has recently been very much reduced. It is now possible to obtain a 4-seater Weymann Body on the 2 litre unsupercharged chassis with 9' 6" wheelbase for £925 complete.

While we perhaps should not learn very much from the actual construction of the car, we think it would
