With reference to your memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T40/R2.7.17. would you kindly note that Mr. Royce does not want us to use the new pump on repair engines where it is necessary to replace the pump owing to wear or damage, unless the old design of pump is considered not to give satisfaction. We understand, however, that these old pumps are giving satisfaction since they have been fitted with the oil drain. X.2716. This item should not, therefore, appear on the list of replacements and repairs. If you have any further information differing from ours, would you kindly let us know.
