EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from EFC. X5783dv EFC2/T11.4.29. 20 H.P. DISTRIBUTOR ROTOR FAILURE. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}3/H1O.4.29. We have previously had one or two similar cases. These must be due to a slight flaw in the moulding. It was pointed out to me that it is impossible to absolutely prevent the possibility of a small piece of metal (from the inserts or otherwise) very occasionally creeping into the moulding. We are, however, taking two steps in the matter - (1) We are looking into the possibility of increasing the thickness at this point. (2) We have half a dozen present standard production mushroom rotors which we will test on our H.T. transformer and endeavour to prove any weakness or inequality, and will let you know the result of this test in due course. We have not so far had any reported case of a failure of the mushroom rotor either by through failure or surface tracking. EFC | ||
