non-return type and we have no evidence of them leaking. Wyer's suggestion of using a plug in place of an Enots lubricator on the sliding joint is not according to owner's wishes. We have had a complaint from an owner who objected to using an oilcan for this job. He stated that it was impossible for him to know how much oil had got in. We do not fit Enots on the 20 HP. because it fouls the cross-member, therefore we have had to fit a plug.

Rn.{Mr Robinson} Shock Absorbers.

There has been definite progress with the troubles of shock dampers and we are hopeful that these complaints will soon shew a decline.

E.P. Exhaust Troubles.

We have not received a report from EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} with regard to the above.

We have, since my last report, got out a scheme for dealing with the recurrent failures of the 20 HP. exhaust down pipe. The scheme is to fit a short flanged pipe into the one that has failed making a double flange welded only at the outer edge. This should prevent recurrent failures. A Depot Sheet will shortly be sent out dealing with this.

A strengthened exhaust manifold to replace failures is now being produced. A Depot Sheet has been issued.

Daykin. Speedometers.

This report has been dealt with and taken up with the A.T. speedometer people, who have replied that they will investigate the faults pointed out and do their utmost to rectify them.

T.V.T. Turner. Water Leaks from Cylinders.

We have handed this report to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and asked him whether the proposals made can be adopted.

A.J. Lidsey. Springing.

Mr. Lidsey has sent in a report on springing. This job is progressing satisfactorily.
