Dear Sirs,

We have recently experienced starting trouble at extremely low temperatures, on our experimental 25/30 cars, on which we fit your 6.LZLD.13-S type of battery. Using the Bentley type of battery, 6.HZD.9-S, we find that starting is distinctly better. In attempting to analyse the differences between these two batteries, and at the same time compare them with the Phantom battery, type 6.HZD.12-S, it occured to us that our records of the details of these batteries may not be up-to-date.

At the moment it appears to us that the internal resistance of the 6.LZLD.13-S type battery is too high, and the capacity somewhat lower than that of the Bentley battery. This is rather an urgent matter as we have had to hold up the purchase of batteries of this type pending further enquiries, and should, consequently, be glad to have your comments. At the same time it would help us if you could supply us with complete particulars of these three batteries.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
