SPRINGFIELD, MASS. Oy4-E-2826 X3900 February 8, 1926. Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives, Mickleover, Near Derby, England. Dear Hives: I have cut out this sample to show you a typical Norton accelerometer record of riding. Both records are taken (in immediate succession) on a stretch of exceedingly rough road. Note that floor accelerations are all moderate but the seat cushions show up badly (we know they were hurriedly made Test cusions) - because they build up the vibrations they receive from the body of the car instead of damping them out. Yours very truly, Maurice Olley MO/E | ||
