86135 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA. July 17th., 1933. Messrs.S.Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. For the attention of Mr.C.W.Nichols. Dear Sir, We view with some alarm the failure of clocks on the new Bentley A.T. combined rev indicator and clock. Of the four clocks now being tested on our experimental Bentley chassis two have failed. We do feel that in view of the high cost of these combined instruments we should be furnished with a reliable clock and we particularly wish you to impress upon all concerned the utmost importance of good design and careful inspection where our instruments are concerned. We think you will agree that we are justified in our complaint in view of the price we are paying for these A.T. instruments and we do want you to be unsparing in your efforts to satisfy our requirements where accuracy and absolute reliability are concerned. | ||
