30 HP CAR EXHAUST SYSTEM. GUL. 19. TROUBLE. MUCH TROUBLE HAS OCCURRED IN THE TAIL PIPE MOUNTINGS - RATTLING BADLY. IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE IS TOO MUCH UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT IN THE SLEEVES A AND B AND THAT THE SPRING IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH. ALSO, THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE TWO SLEEVES IS .050". CURE. HAVE BETTER FITTING SLEEVES - SAY, .010" TO .015" CLEARANCE REDUCE THE UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT TO ABOUT .020 INSTEAD OF .375". INCREASE THE SPRING POUNDAGE 50% AND SEE THAT THE SLEEVE A DOES NOT HIT FACE C WHEN SPRING IS CHOC-A-BLOC. N.B. THIS TROUBLE IS OCCURRING ON BOTH THE 30 HP AND MANY OLD 20/25 H.P. K.F. SCHOLES.
