A Conference was held to review the position of the Experimental Production B.5 chassis. Present: BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/G.Mc. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SS.{S. Smith} RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Wld. HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC{W. S. Cassel}, HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/LK.{L. In addition to the material for the 50 Experimental Production Chassis, we were informed that 250 additional sets of material were to be ordered, making 300 in all. GEARBOX. B.5 TYPE OR WRAITH TYPE OVERDRIVE. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} stated that the final decision as to the type of gearbox could not be taken. He suggested that a Conference should be held when the latest information regarding manufacturing possibilities would be available. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} suggested 'splitting' the layshaft to facilitate production. It was agreed to hold up all parts affected by the change of gearbox. BY/NS.{Norman Scott} is to compile a list of Sections affected by the gearbox. FRAMES. 1st. Frame produced, using tools, is promised in 12 weeks. ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} suggested that if frames are required before this date hand made frames could be obtained. HUBS. ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} stated delivery was promised in May.
