BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7600 'SS{S. Smith}' TWO WHEELS AND BOX AT REAR. X.7600 X.7400 Herewith we send N.schs. 2732/33, shewing the arrangement of luggage box and two wheels at the rear. This is intended for 18-EX and supersedes the previous arrgt. of alternative wheel and luggage. The only alteration of an existing part is that it will be necessary to provide a distant control for the 2 level device. There is an alternative arrangement of two wheels and luggage grid which will be following in the course of a few days. We think that RR. of America should be informed of these proposals, and we suggest that a print of these two drgs. should be sent them, as they are working on the original alternative scheme, and this new proposal restricts the body space.
