| S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} X236. PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT3.3.33. Bensport Pistons. Referring to our conversation on the 'phone this afternoon, I mentioned to En. this morning the trouble which has arisen with the methods employed for locking the gudgeon pins in this car, and he explained to me that the very satisfactory way which they finally adopted in all their engines after suffering from the same trouble with the wire clip method was to press an aluminium plug into the gudgeon pin, its external diagram being similar to that of the gudgeon pin, and the outside head ending in a cone, giving a point contact against the cylinder. I have arranged for a complete piston with gudgeon pin and plugs to be forwarded to you this afternoon, and the relative drawings and particulars with regard to fixing. I hope this will be useful.
