Dear Robotham,

I am sorry I have not previously replied to your letter dated the 23rd October, but I was anticipating some further information from you on the subject of crankshafts and tappets so I had delayed my reply until receipt of this.

Mr. Spurrier duly received the B.V. petrol pump, on which you say you have had some excellent results, and on examination we find this is identical with a type we have used on the fuel testing rig in our Research Department for some little time past. We, however, did experience a considerable amount of trouble with small detail failures, but we will make a direct comparison of the two to see whether any improvement has been made in the one you have submitted.

Perhaps we will have the opportunity of discussing the points mentioned in your letter more fully at some later date.

Yours sincerely,
